The Traffic Court at the 19th JDC hosted an inaugural event to coincide with International Day of Justice on July 17, 2023. The theme for the day was - Traffic Changed Me. The focus for the event was to provide assistance to the many citizens who have suspended licenses. The accumulation of fines and fees prevents them from fixing the problem legitimately. A recent change in the law by the legislature now permits a 6 month grace period and two notices prior to suspension of a drivers license for failure to appear at a court date. Overall, the event proved to be a tremendous success. This event is most definitely addressing key needs of the community. For more details see the article on the event in The Advocate.
